Moving Company Packing Services Do It Right!

in Moving
Packing for a local or long distance move is an art, you should consider using the packing services of your moving company theyre professionals, and they will do it right!
I cant imagine anything more disheartening than arriving at your new home and discovering that some of your precious belongings have been damaged during the move. Even though you try to be careful, you may not have packed your items securely enough to prevent breakage or friction damage. Professional packers have the materials and knowledge to protect your treasured items so they will arrive safely at your destination.
What packing services can the moving company provide? Most local and long distance moving companies offer:
Full packing services, which means packing, moving and unpacking all the items you tell them are to be moved, and
Partial pack, which you may choose to ensure that very fragile, valuable, or difficult to pack items are professionally packed.
How do you determine what needs packing? When you call the moving company, they will assign a moving consultant who will arrange an in-home survey. During this survey the consultant will:
Evaluate your packing needs, and
Determine which items are especially treasured or valuable to you that may require special packing or crating to be well protected during the move.
The moving company has many different types of containers to efficiently and safely pack all your possessions, there are:
Smaller boxes for packing heavy items;
Large boxes for bulky items which arent too heavy;
Mirror cartons for your artwork and mirrors;
Wardrobe cartons to transport your clothing on hangers to lessen wrinkling;
China cartons; heavily reinforced boxes constructed specifically to safely transport your plates, bowls, stemware and other dishes, and
Book boxes; small, durable boxes designed to protect your books and magazines.
Using the proper materials is also very important when packing your items, the moving company has:
Furniture pads;
Tissue paper;
Heavy paper, and
Bubble wrap
These materials will be used to protect your valuables from getting dirty or broken in transit.
Labelling the boxes is important to prevent chaos at the other end of the move; the moving company will clearly label all boxes with:
The name of the room they should be placed in at the new location (kitchen, bathroom etc.), and
The contents of the box.
All the boxes should be labelled on their sides, so that if you need to store some of your items, either in a storage facility provided by the moving company, or in your new home, you can stack the boxes and still clearly see the labels and identify the contents easily.
The moving company should also provide a designated set-up box, containing everything that you will need immediately upon arrival at your destination, like:
Parts for assembling disassembled furniture;
Baby or pet supplies, or
Anything that you know you will need access to right away (coffee maker perhaps?)
When you reach your destination, the movers will place all the boxes into the correct rooms as per the labels, and unpack them in those rooms. Put-away service is also available, at a further cost to you. You may consider this for some rooms that you need functioning immediately such as the kitchen.
Packing for a local or long distance move is a daunting task; it might be wise to leave it to the professionals. Make use of the packing services provided by the moving company to make your move easier.
