The lost love and hoping against hope

in Moving

I have known my best friend since I was three years old. We met at nursery and have been best friends ever since. It was like love at first sight. We are thirty years old now and since that first day we met we have been inseparable. We went to the same schools, colleges and even went on our first girlie holiday today. We used to party together and even dated some of the same boys!  When I announced I was engaged she announced her engagement three months later, we got married at the same place and our first child is only four weeks different in age. Its just a perfect relationship, up until now.

We have not fell out but she is Moving Overseas  moving overseas. I am absolutely gutted. Who am I going to spend all my time with. Its devastating. It would not be so bad if she was simply moving to Spain or Italy but she is going to live in Australia. I am blaming her husband. He has family out that and that is why he wants to move. My friend has very little family and therefore she seems to have been persuaded.

Obviously we will be invited for holidays but Australia can be quite an expensive place to get to, especially with five children. She is suggesting that we arranged to meet half way once a year, possibly in Dubai. I suppose I should start looking on the bright side and see it as an opportunity. However I am still praying for a little miracle and hoping that she won't go. Fingers crossed.
